Takis Ch. Kandiloros
The Dimitsanite historian, folklorist and journalist who helped shape the written historical memory of the village.
Why it matters
He gives the timeline a historian of Dimitsana itself: someone who preserved, framed and transmitted the village’s own story.
Takis Ch. Kandiloros, born in 1874, became one of the important writers of Dimitsana’s local history. His 1897 monograph on Dimitsana, with biographies of Gregory V and Germanos of Old Patras, helped organize local memory into a printed historical narrative.
He belongs in the timeline because he represents the moment when Dimitsana’s past was no longer only inherited memory, but also research, publication and historiography.
