Timeline entry: Zatuna and Paleohor recorded together with Dimitsana

Why it matters

The entry shows Dimitsana as the centre of a wider local settlement network, not only as an isolated mountain village.

In the register of Selim II’s period, Dimitsana is recorded together with two settlement units named Zatuna and Paleohor. Zatuna appears with 15 households and 2 unmarried adult men, while Paleohor appears with 33 households and 5 unmarried adult men.

The same register records 168 Christian households, 137 unmarried Christian men, 3 Muslim households and one baştina. Total recorded revenue reaches 35,500 akçe, compared with 23,300 in the earlier Süleyman-period register.
