Ping Pong Weekend in Dimitsana

Dimitsana’s central square became a small open-air table-tennis venue during the first Ping Pong Weekend, held on 18–19 April 2026.

The event was co-organized by the Sports & Cultural Association “Aetoi Gortynias” and the Dimitsana Youth Association “Kryfoi Scholeiotes”. It invited residents and visitors of all ages to play freely, learn the basics of the sport, watch demonstrations from experienced players, and participate without needing personal equipment.

Beyond the sport itself, the weekend added a lively, social note to the village centre and showed how simple community events can activate public space, bring generations together, and create new reasons to visit Dimitsana outside the peak holiday periods.
