The 6th Summer School for the Cultural Heritage of Rural Areas is hosted in Dimitsana with the theme “Intangible Cultural Heritage and Tourism: Challenges and Opportunities”. The programme explores how tourism can support the safeguarding and sustainable use of intangible cultural heritage while strengthening local communities.
The 6th Summer School for the Cultural Heritage of Rural Areas was held in Dimitsana from 27 July to 3 August 2025 under the theme “Intangible Cultural Heritage and Tourism: Challenges and Opportunities”.
The programme examined the principles and conditions under which tourism development can support the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage, create long-term benefits for heritage communities and avoid the risks associated with uncontrolled and unsustainable tourism.
