Why it matters
The reform marks Dimitsana’s administrative transition into the wider municipality of Gortynia.
The Municipality of Dimitsana, created in 1999 under the Kapodistrias plan, united seven former communities over 110.7 km² with 1,337 residents. Located in western Arcadia with Dimitsana as its seat, it existed until 2010, when the Kallikratis reform merged it into the new Municipality of Gortynia.
