Miniature Clocks Fundraiser for the Dimitsana Clock Tower
2025-01-01

Local resident Vasilis Pantazopoulos created a miniature replica of the Dimitsana Clock Tower as a sentimental keepsake—and turned it into a fundraiser. In cooperation with the Dimitsana Interconference & Cultural Center, 1,000 miniature clocks were commissioned from the Far East. As of August 2025, 910 have been distributed to villagers and visitors, with proceeds collected by the Center. Concurrently, efforts are underway with the Patras Directorate of Modern Monuments to recognize the clock as a protected heritage monument. On March 20, 2025, a favorable recommendation was secured at the KAS–KSNM session, chaired by the Secretary-General of Culture. A full technical study will follow, including cost estimation, and an academic team from Utah Valley University will visit in July to contribute to the study.
